The adidas Yeezy Slide experienced a six-month break due to the rift between Kanye West and the Three Stripes brand. However, the popularity of the silhouette remained consistent during this period. Competing brands introduced their own versions of minimalist foam-based slides during this time, yet Kanye's design continued to stand out.
This development follows events from October 2022 when the Three Stripes instructed its retail partners to stop selling adidas Yeezy products indefinitely. With new management at the German sportswear giant, Ye's designs were sold in May as part of an initiative to address a surplus of unsold Yeezy merchandise, prompting retailers to do the same. In the upcoming month of August, the highly sought-after Yeezy Boost 350 V2 and Yeezy Slides are expected to reappear both in prominent chain stores and independent boutique outlets.
