Air Jordan 1 Low OG “UNC To CHI”
Narrative has played a pivotal role in the ongoing success of the Air Jordan series since its debut in 1985. This summer, Nike introduces us the Air Jordan 1 Low OG "UNC to CHI" concept, a theme inspired by the transition of a young Michael Jordan from the University of North Carolina to Chicago. This theme has been previously featured on other notable signature sneakers. The recently revealed low-top version preserves all the intricate details tied to the concept, incorporating accents of "Dark Powder Blue" and "Gym Red" that enliven the heel, side swooshes, and toe box.
The upper of the shoe is crafted from a combination of smooth and tumbled leather, distributing these textures across various panels. This design approach mirrors the Air Jordan 1 released in February 2020, which played a role in popularizing the narrative of players moving from NCAA to NBA. The sole unit maintains a clean aesthetic, with the midsole cushioning adopting a straightforward "White" appearance. The outsoles pay a final homage to the Chicago Bulls with their ruby-colored finish, tying back to the team's iconic colors.
